Over the last five years romantics have been using laser technology to inscribe messages of love onto diamonds for their loved ones.
Using precise technology which concentrates tiny laser beams onto the diamond girdle, it is increasingly popular to inscribe personalized messages, images, and even serial numbers onto diamonds.
Appearance Laser inscriptions are microscopic and totally invisible to the naked eye. A standard jeweler's loupe will be suitable for viewing laser inscriptions. The laser beam transforms transparent carbon into opaque carbon, causing an impressive 3D effect.
Effect on the diamond Laser inscriptions will not result in any change to a diamond's size, weight and grade. A laser inscription will not rub off or suffer wear and tear, and can only be removed by a professional diamond polisher. Removal of the inscription by the polisher may result in very very slight weight loss, which in MOST cases will be insignificant and not affect the value of the diamond.
Advantages A diamond laser inscription provides more than the ultimate personal message. Diamonds that have been certified by a diamond grading laboratory can also be inscribed with the individual grading report certificate number. With this reference number a diamond is inscribed with its own "ID" which will correspond to the particular characteristics (fingerprint) of that diamond. This will make switching your diamond with another diamond almost impossible.

In addition you may also inscribe an image of a heart onto your diamond.
